Thanks @Jeff - I agree. WE do use the 4 drive solution for Exchange replication and it works great...but I don't know that we could use it on a live server to pass data.

HI. I have been using Windows 7 RTM and before that the RC on various flavors of the MAC running parallels with 0 issues.
Unfortunately I don't have a solution for you, but did make some calls and found that no one using your install scenario had any trouble. Perhaps you need to try a re-install of Windows 7...and I am assuming you are now using the RTM??

Hi,

thanks for a great post. I installed as you described and all went well until I suspended the vm. It started hanging on startup at the 'Welcome' message and would only boot into windows in safe mode.

The parallels install is running on a new (July 09) unibody 13" MBP with integrated graphics only (not sure if this is a factor). The problem seems to lie with the Parallels Tools app(s) and the fact that the Win7 install is 64bit.

Parallels support suggested un- and re-installing Parallels tools which works until the next time the vm is suspended :-(. They also advised deleting the .mem/.sav files inside the vms .pvm package but to no avail, I still get so far and no further.

Have you or any of your readers experienced this? And if so do you have a fix/workaround? I'm desperate to bin my XP vm and get with the times ;-)

Thanks,

I.

About the slow performance comment their 4 drive system is for long term storage or secondary storage it is not a high performance solution. Just an FYI. As to the Pro version we have 2 ESXi servers sharing one pro with 8 1.5tb drives running 15 machines in total. We have not had any issues so far after 4 months of production.

Hi, I'm sitting here with a brand new 17" MacBook Pro and the Canon VIXIA HFS10. I have connected the USB cable and opened I-Movie and PRESTO - NOTHING. I have tried unsuccessfully for the last 20-minutes to get I-Movie and the MAC to see the Canon to download my movies. Please write to burtallan@aol.com as well as the post if you have a suggestion. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I've recently made the switch to SL and am using the 64bit kernel, for fun. I had been using Fusion but it doesn't work with the kernel in 64bit mode but VB does. I think I'll try it out after hearing that it has gotten much better :)

I would be interested in your test results of running Drobo Pro iSCSI with VMware vSphere especially now that Drobo Pro is on VMware's HCL in all. Please let us know how that project goes and how many VMware hosts and what switch and config jumbo frames you use etc.

To be honest, I have not yet attempted to place a call using GTalk. I do most of my calling from the web interface when I am at work/home and I use Magic Call on my phone to place calls. But from the web you can place a call and have it ring your Gizmo5 number which in turn goes through your GTalk. As for the three minute limitation, that applys to outgoing calls only. So even "placing a call" with Google Voice really turns it into an incoming call. I've sat on the GTalk for about 45 minutes with my mother who lives out of state walking her through using her netbook.

Just a comment because it's an issue that I've dealt with at work, and according to my Verizon rep, has been happening more and more. Verizon's Blackberry Tour 9630 has been starting to exhibit roller-ball issues similar to the same problems they had when they first released the Blackberry World Edition. Beyond that, it's a nice device.
