Snow Leopard: The 2 Finger Salute!

Ed Bott, infamsnow-leopardous ZDnet blogger, posted a tweet a few days back that led me to a story about how to activate the 64 bit Kernel in the upcoming OS X Snow Leopard.  I figured I would share the 2 Finger Salute!

Simply hold down the 6 and 4 keys at boot time so that Snow Leopard boots using the 64bit Kernel.

I naturally tested this on my macbook pro with Snow Leopard and so far have not found any incompatibilities.  I have found that the system is a bit more responsive and launch times reduced.  Snow leopard will not boot with the 64bit kernel by default unless it is being run on an XServe.

A quick tip for the weekend.  Enjoy!!!
