Catchy title is it not?
I have had my Verizon Wireless Mi-Fi for about a week now and am loving everything about it. Click here for the mi-fi review.. This past weekend (Memorial Day Weekend) we took the kids out to some observatories in NJ/PA….basically the middle of nowhere. Pictures were, of course, involved. I figured since we were going to be out and about that I would try to connect my Eye-Fi card to the Mi-Fi router so I could get pictures uploaded from the wilderness…(well it was more a park). Click here for my eye-fi review..
Read on for the steps and the results.
Steps:

  1. Turn on Verizon Wireless Mi-Fi
  2. Insert Eye-Fi into Card Reader
  3. Insert Card reader into usb port
  4. Use Eye-Fi Manager and add the Mi-Fi Wi-Fi network.
  5. DONE!

Results:
EXCELLENT just about sums it up. Eye-Fi now offers a relaying service in that if your computer at home is off they will hold your photos on their servers and send them to your machine when it becomes available. Genius if you ask me. We took some pictures, about 30 or 40, at regular quality…I dont get nuts with super-fine etc….I keep it down low to make maximum use of memory and get great quality. The pictures were waiting for us when we got home…on our machine ready to be edited, emailed, etc. Keep in mind that the eye-fi will cause some battery drain…so if your pictures are not SUPER-FINE the sizes will remain small and thus uploads will be faster.
Another excellent use of the mi-fi……also remember that if the mi-fi does not have a signal then the whole purpose of the above is defeated…but with a network like Verizon I am sure you can get a signal pretty much anywhere these days. :-)
