Ah... Browsing on the device is not the best possible experience, but there are times when it can be great to have. I've also at times enjoyed the ability to stream music over the 3G connection - I've got AT&T service but not an iPhone. I certainly also do not want to have a second system just for connectivity, and for me in this neck of th ewoods, 3G from AT&T has been reasonably good. I have, however, noticed a significant slowdown on the network since the iPhone 3G came out...

You have a point...but in my case I think 3G on AT&T has a way to go since its overloaded with iPhones. Personally the Blackberry is useless for browsing and thus all you need data for is your email, calendar, contacts, tasks, notes, etc. Tethering for me is not an issue since I would rather use my Mi-Fi EVDO Wi-FI router.

Am I missing something on the berry - for me 3G is much more of a requirement for fast net connections in areas where I don't have any other coverage... Of course, I also use my phone to tether my computer to connect as well...
